Naomi De Lyall
Naomi is currently in her third year studying a Bachelor of Creative Industries; double minoring in Creative and Performing Arts and Visual Studio Practice (photo-media). Naomi has always had a passion for creative arts which have always been a part of her life somehow (through her family opening her up to them) and from the exposure of the creative arts she discovered that she wanted to get more involved in theatre acting and photography. Her creative practice is different forms of theatre acting such as physical, dramatic, character/pantomime, musical and improvisation (though she has also been the main character in a short film of another creative industry student) and can perform these different forms in different locations. Her creative practice is also photo-media which she has skills in analogue, alchemy and digital photography as well as Photoshop. Naomi wants to create acting, photo-media and creative projects (as well as combinations of them) that showcase her skills as well as show people a different perspective on something which makes them reflect on it and or brings awareness about an issue. Why she wants to do this is because she wants to connect to people through the projects through storytelling (fictional or real) and interaction and convey to them the value of the creative industries/arts and the impact they can have on people and community/communities. Over the years Naomi has had the opportunity to work on a number of incredible drama, photo-media and creative industry projects that have allowed her to grow and establish herself within this competitive creative industry. She hopes you’ll enjoy viewing the portfolio of her creative practices as much as she enjoys doing them. Go ahead and explore, and don’t hesitate to reach out to her if you’d like to learn more.

Naomi auditioned for Hunter School of the Performing Arts in 2007 for Drama with a monologue of Veruca Salt from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and attended HSPA from 2008 up until she graduated in Drama in 2015. While she was there Naomi was in their productions of Cinderella and the mice and Les Miserables. In 2012 and 2013 she performed at HSPA's Shakespeare Festival and in 2013 the group she performed with won best senior scene at regionals. Naomi also took acting classes at Young Peoples Theatre for 11 years (2005-2015) and during that time she performed in nine of their productions such as Hating Alison Ashley (which she received a Ray Brooks award for as Margeart in 2009). She has also been a crew/backstage member for a couple of YPT’s productions and has done various workshops there as well as performed at one of their showcases as an old lady knitting that was planted in the audience with her husband who she was also watching tv with. As part of her university study (doing a Bachelor of Creative Industries at UoN), Naomi has been in multiple group performances of different theatre acting styles (including one performed in New Space where she played a kid in a cat onesie) and has performed a short physical theatre piece using two chairs with Brittany Cole at a Watt Space exhibition of first-year Creative Industry students in 2017. These photos best represent her acting portfolio.
